Each card format (e.g., 41 mm x 63 mm, 63.5 mm x 89 mm, etc.) should be prepared as a separate PDF file. If you’re printing cards in different sizes, create separate files for each size.

Example:

  • 41 mm x 63 mm deck → file kowalski_41x63.pdf
  • 63.5 mm x 89 mm deck → file kowalski_63.5×89.pdf

The file should contain alternating front and back sides of the cards. Each card is two consecutive pages in the PDF file:

Example for a 30-card deck:

  • page 1 – front of card no. 1
  • page 2 – back of card no. 1
  • page 3 – front of card no. 2
  • page 4 – back of card no. 2
  • … and so on, up to page 60.

If the deck is to have several identical cards, these cards should be duplicated in the file

Prepare the PDF file according to the card usage orientation:

  • Portrait cards → pages in portrait orientation.
  • Landscape cards → pages in landscape orientation.

Important: If you have both portrait and landscape cards in one file, pay special attention to this! For cards that are arranged in an orientation different from how they will actually be used, you must rotate the backs 180 degrees relative to the fronts.

The pages in the PDF file should be 6 mm larger than the card dimension in length and 6 mm in width (3 mm bleed on each side).

Example:

  • 63 mm x 88 mm card → PDF page: 69 mm x 94 mm.
The bleed is an additional 3 mm of graphics that extends beyond the target card size. The bleed must be an extension of the card graphics, not an arbitrary color or white frame. The exception is when the card itself has a white frame – only then can white be considered as bleed. In all other cases, the graphics should be extended to the bleed area.
