Custom Game Cards Printing – MB Print: Premium Quality

Are you interested in professional custom game cards printing, but other print shops require ordering thousands of copies? At MB Print, we do things differently. Thanks to our configurator, you can instantly quote and order cards in any size and any quantity – starting from just 1 deck.

Our system is transparent: the configurator shows you exactly how the price per deck decreases as you increase the order volume. It is the perfect solution for prototype creators, Kickstarter designers, and collectors alike.

Choose the Right Paper – The Foundation of Your Card

Card quality starts with the base material. After years of experience and testing hundreds of options, we selected 4 types of paper from trusted manufacturers. Each has a different purpose, so before you order your custom game cards, check which variant fits your project:

  • 350g Matte Coated Paper (Premium) – A stiff paper that creates noticeably thicker cards with enhanced durability. This is the best choice for decks that are intensively used and shuffled frequently, where mechanical strength is key.

  • 300g Matte Coated Paper (Standard LCG) – Paper with an ideal quality-to-price ratio. It has standard stiffness and thickness, known from most card games and LCG (Living Card Games) systems. This is the most common choice for game designers.

  • 275g Textured Cardstock (Linen Finish) – A specialized paper with a canvas-like structure. It gives cards a characteristic, noble look, and the texture is clearly perceptible to the touch. We recommend it for projects where aesthetics and a “vintage” feel are a priority. Important: We do not laminate (foil) this paper to avoid covering its unique texture.

  • 130g Matte Coated Paper (Economy) – Very thin paper intended mainly for single-sided “proxy” prints (to be used in card sleeves with another card as a backing) or for quick mechanic testing in cheap prototypes.

Lamination – When Should You Foil Your Cards?

Lamination makes cards thicker, more pleasant to the touch, and visually striking. However, it is worth noting an important distinction between aesthetics and protection:

Expert Tip: Lamination mainly serves an aesthetic function. Although the foil is an additional coating, with very intense shuffling, it may eventually peel at the edges (a natural physical process). for full mechanical protection (against spills, dirt, and wear), we always recommend using card sleeves.

So when should you choose lamination? We recommend this option for collectible cards, Premium cards, and elements that lie on the table during gameplay and are not constantly shuffled (e.g., character cards, location cards, objective cards). We offer three types of finishes:

  1. Holographic Foil – A striking rainbow effect (Holo) that corresponds perfectly with dark, saturated colors. Great for “Rare/Legendary” cards.

  2. Matte Foil – A velvety, elegant, and “satin” finish. It works well with bright and muted graphics, eliminating light reflections (making text easier to read under a lamp).

  3. Gloss Foil – Boosts and vivifies colors. Its advantage is the ability to write on cards with dry-erase markers, which is a great solution for educational games, “roll & write” games, and prototypes.

Corner Finishing

Standardly, we print custom game cards with rounded corners (5 mm radius). This is the market standard ensuring comfort in shuffling and holding cards in a fan. On special request, we can also prepare cards with square (sharp) corners.

File Verification and Order Processing

The ordering process at MB Print is simple and secure:

  1. Guidelines: Before ordering, check our file preparation guidelines (bleeds, margins).

  2. Verification: Your file goes to our team. We usually check it within 1-2 business days.
